What is the purpose of the tool?
The Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC & Yukon Branch, developed a series of COVID-19 related videos with tips for kidney patients to help them stay safe and connected with the health system during this time. Topics span getting ready for a virtual appointment, pharmacy care, food tips, hand washing and more. Each video is only about 1 to 2 minutes long for quick viewing.
What were some challenges of developing the tool?
As we developed this video series during a pandemic, we were somewhat limited by what we could film safely, so we had to be creative, including using more stock imagery.
How have you used the tool?
We have shared this video series both within our kidney network and with the public-at-large through various channels, including: The Kidney Foundation's PLUGGED IN TV show that airs on SHAW TV, our Kidney PLUGGED IN YouTube channel, through e-newsletters and digital ads, and on social media.
What benefits have you seen after using the tool?
We have received positive feedback from kidney patients that they have found the videos helpful, and the pilot results from our online/digital COVID video ads tracked well above industry average.
