It's different this year –

Shifting the focus (for one year only!) to peer connection and collaboration.

As with everything else in our lives, COVID-19 has caused us to rethink BC Kidney Days. In 2021, we are shifting gears from a two-day conference to a series of discipline-specific virtual sessions.

Held over five days from November 22-26, BC Kidney Week will enable peers and patient partners from across the province to connect, share and learn. There will not be a full scientific program.

Program

Each professional group, as well as our patient partners, will have one session during the week, with a focus on diverse and robust content, including:

  • A guest speaker from their discipline or field
  • Virtual round table discussions on changes to practice and other professional topics
  • Business meetings where applicable to facilitate decision making
  • Opportunities for small breakouts to connect, reflect and look ahead!

Plus - An opportunity to come together

  • BC Kidney Week will wrap up with a virtual poster forum highlighting the top 10 submitted posters.
  • Plans are underway to include a provincial update – we'll keep you posted on the format for this don't-miss portion.
  • Wilma Crockett Memorial Award, presented each year to a member of the kidney care community for outstanding contributions locally and provincially for patient care in BC.
