Vice-Chair, Hemodialysis Advisory Panel (HDAP) 

Purpose
As a leader and key facilitator, the HDAP Vice-Chair works closely with the HDAP Chair, members of the HDAP from all Health Authority Renal Programs, patient partners as well as the leadership of other BCR provincial advisory panels and working groups. The goal is to improve standards of hemodialysis care and the overall patient experience across the province. 

Role of the HD Advisory Panel 

The Hemodialysis Advisory Panel is a multidisciplinary group of dedicated health care professionals and patient partners from all health authorities in the province. The goal of the HDAP is to enhance and foster excellence in the delivery of hemodialysis care throughout British Columbia.

​​ Chair, BC Renal Palliative Care Advisory Panel

Purpose

The Palliative Care Advisory Panel Chair plays a key role in providing strategic direction and leadership to the provincial Palliative Care Advisory Panel (PCAP), with a focus on achieving the goals outlined in the advisory panel's terms of reference and approved annual work plan.

Summary of Role

The PCAP Chair has a unique role in the province as a facilitator and leader, working with Palliative Care Advisory Panel representatives from across the regional renal programs, as well as the leadership of other provincial advisory panels. The Chair also collaborates with representatives from external organizations such as the Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC Centre for Palliative Care and the UBC Division of Palliative Care to advance palliative approach to renal care across all Health Authority Renal Programs (HARPs). 

The Palliative Care Advisory Panel provides a forum for networking and collaboration across health authorities and disciplines, assists HARPs to develop and implement strong renal palliative care, and enhances education and training of End-of-Life (EOL) and Advanced Care Planning (ACP) care.  The PCAP also supports and provides guidance to the Advanced Palliative and Geriatric Nephrology Fellowship Program.​​​
