After more than 13 years providing project management support and clinical guidance to BC Renal’s Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Committee and working groups, Linda Turnbull has retired and is embarking on new adventures.
Throughout her tenure, Linda generously shared her extensive knowledge and expertise, supporting every aspect of PD—from clinical practice and patient care to operations and administrative processes. Her guidance and collaboration supported a range of initiatives that shaped and advanced PD care at regional, provincial and national levels.
We are profoundly grateful for the dedication, support, and compassion Linda consistently demonstrated, as well as her unwavering commitment to improving PD care and supporting both patients and those she worked with. We reached out to a few colleagues to share their thoughts about Linda’s contributions over the years, and they all echoed the significant impact she had on clinical care and improving the lives of people living with kidney disease across the province.
From Dr. Suneet Singh, nephrologist, Vancouver General Hospital, and chair, BC Renal Peritoneal Dialysis Committee:
“I was lucky to meet Linda so early in my career as a nephrologist. She was an inspiration in PD nursing and excellence. Because of her skills, and her generous willingness to contribute to all aspects of PD, I am sure I am, and many others are, better clinicians. She will be missed.”
From Dr. Shannon Wong, nephrologist, Fraser Health, and vice-chair, BC Renal Peritoneal Dialysis Committee:
“I feel privileged to have worked under the mentorship and guidance of Linda over the past few years. She has been such an integral part of the BC Peritoneal Dialysis Committee, bringing a sense of enthusiasm, passion, and dedication to every project she tackled. In particular, her work with the PD Assist program has improved the lives of so many people living with kidney disease. Congratulations to Linda, for her many years of service and the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Wishing her the best on her retirement!”
From Sara Faulkner, chair BC Renal Peritoneal Dialysis Nurses Group:
“Linda has been a true inspiration. Her continued commitment and passion for all aspects of PD—and for the many patients, families, and colleagues she has supported over the years—has left a lasting impact. Her expertise and contributions to the BC Renal PD Committee and PD Nurses group will continue to influence our work for many years ahead. Her support to me personally will never be forgotten! Thank you, Linda! Wishing her the best in a well-deserved retirement.”
As Linda begins this next chapter, BC Renal extends its sincere appreciation for her outstanding contributions to PD care across the province. We offer our warmest wishes for a fulfilling and well-earned retirement.
