These one-hour webinars feature a wide range of kidney care topics and are open to all health professionals and patient partners.
A collaboration between BC Renal and the UBC Division of Nephrology, province wide rounds are funded in part through the UBC Division of Nephrology Education Fund.

  • Learning Objectives:
    1. Describe the Saskatchewan organ donation and transplantation environment, especially related to First Nations and Métis people.
    2. Understand why First Nations and Métis people in Saskatchewan are overrepresented on transplant wait lists, and barriers they face in receiving or donating organs.
    3. Discuss why healthcare systems need to be more responsive to the needs of First Nations and Métis peoples and involve Indigenous healthcare leaders in decision making.

    1. Define the meaning and scope of virtual care in the hemodialysis context.
    2. Understand how virtual care might improve patient-centred care in the hemodialysis setting.
    3. Identify uncertainties and concerns related to implementation of virtual care in hemodialysis.
    4. Discuss the importance of evaluating virtual care interventions in hemodialysis.

November 19, 2021 - Cardiac outcomes in CKD patients: Approaching evidence informed decision making

  • Learning Objectives: 
    1. Appreciate the risks of different cardiovascular events and how they vary across the spectrum of CKD.
    2. Review the effectiveness of medical interventions for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in CKD populations
    3. Explore recent evidence on the impact of invasive management of coronary disease in patients with CKD, and how we should apply it.
